Bluinterni Architectural Doors: Italian Design for Contemporary Baltic Interiors

The door as part of the architecture

Bluinterni combines Italian craftsmanship with contemporary production technology. The result is a collection of interior opening systems that can be adapted in scale, configuration and finish—from discreet flush-to-wall doors to large pivot compositions and transparent glass partitions.

This flexibility allows the door to perform different roles. It can disappear into a continuous wall, bring daylight into an adjoining space, create a strong architectural focal point or coordinate with panelling and joinery across an entire room.

Which opening system is right for your space?

Hinged doors
Hinged doors are a versatile choice for bedrooms, bathrooms, studies and connecting spaces. Bluinterni offers both framed designs and flush-to-wall solutions. A framed door can become a deliberate feature, while a flush configuration creates a clean transition and visual continuity with the wall.

Pivot doors
Pivot doors are particularly effective in generous openings where scale is part of the design concept. The leaf rotates around a pivot point, creating an effortless architectural gesture. Depending on the model, the system can be unidirectional or bidirectional and specified as a single- or double-door composition.

Sliding doors
Sliding systems help preserve usable floor area and make spaces more flexible. They can separate a kitchen from a living room, create privacy for a home office or define zones without introducing a heavy visual barrier. Glass options allow light to travel between rooms, while solid finishes provide greater privacy.

Folding doors
A folding door is useful when a wide opening is required but there is limited room for a single large leaf. The system folds into a compact footprint and can become a refined architectural partition rather than a purely practical solution.

Boiserie
Bluinterni boiserie extends the finish of the door across the surrounding wall. Door and panelling can form one coordinated surface, supporting interiors in which architecture, joinery and materials are designed as a complete composition.

Concealed closures
The Cubby system is designed for niches, wardrobes, storage areas and technical cabinets. Concealed panels can be painted like the wall or integrated into boiserie, keeping functional elements accessible without interrupting the interior concept.

Materials that define the interior

The material is not simply a final decorative choice; it determines how the door relates to light, furniture and surrounding surfaces. Bluinterni offers a broad selection including wood, lacquer, transparent and textured glass, mirror, stone, porcelain, eco-leather, metal profiles and special textured finishes.

Glass can preserve openness between rooms. Wood introduces warmth and tactility. Matt lacquer can quietly connect the door to a colour scheme, while stone, porcelain or mirror can turn it into a distinctive architectural surface. Profiles, handles and frames complete the composition with precise metal detailing.

Bluinterni has obtained FSC® certification, providing additional assurance regarding the responsible sourcing and traceability of the wooden components covered by the certification.

Made to order around the project

Every Bluinterni door is assembled to order. The appropriate solution depends on the opening, wall construction, dimensions, direction of movement, selected finish and relationship with adjacent elements such as flooring, switches, lighting, built-in furniture and wall panelling.

For this reason, the best time to discuss architectural doors is during the planning stage. Early coordination gives the design team more freedom and helps integrate technical requirements before construction and finishing works are complete.

The production lead time starts from two weeks and depends on the selected model, dimensions, finish and overall configuration. Archideco provides current timing, technical specifications and pricing for each individual request.
