Plumea Lounge Chair: The Art of Contrast

The Plumea lounge chair by Secolo brings together two contrasting qualities: the relaxed softness of generous upholstery and the architectural precision of a sculptural base. Their interaction gives the chair its distinctive silhouette and creates a natural balance between visual clarity and enveloping comfort.

Upholstery inspired by pillows

Plumea’s seat and back form a continuous upholstered composition with softly defined edges and generous volume. Its shape recalls loosely arranged pillows, introducing a sense of intimacy and ease into the living area.

The upholstery combines non-deformable foams of varying densities with feathers. This layered construction provides support while preserving the chair’s inviting appearance. The result is a relaxed seat designed for reading, conversation and quiet moments at home.

A sculptural supporting structure

The softness of the cushions is framed by a rigid yet carefully curved base. Made from a reinforced foam-core composite, the structure creates a clear architectural outline without appearing visually heavy.

A substantial lacquer finish is available in matte or high gloss, allowing the base to either blend discreetly into the interior or become a more expressive element. The smooth surface sets off the tactile character of the upholstery and emphasises Plumea’s carefully considered proportions.

Designed for individual interiors

An extensive selection of colours, fabrics and finishes allows Plumea to be adapted to different interiors while retaining its recognisable form. Neutral upholstery can highlight the chair’s calm, sculptural quality, while saturated colours bring greater emphasis to its generous silhouette.

The contrast between the base and upholstery can also be adjusted through material and colour combinations. This flexibility makes Plumea suitable for contemporary living rooms, private lounges, bedrooms and refined hospitality spaces.

The chair is supplied fully assembled and fitted with protective felt pads.
